Reintroducing Sea Beyond

Reintroducing Sea Beyond

Hello hello!

It has been a while since our last update on Sea Beyond. Things have admittedly been a bit slow ever since our funded UK Games Fund prototype period – mostly because I have been working for a publisher while trying to keep things active... it's a lot of plates to balance all at once!

My contract with the publisher has come to an end now and I'm back, with a clear goal for Sea Beyond. As a new studio, with a new IP, the cards are kind of stacked against us when it comes to finding funding. Publishers and investors want companies with proven track records, or products that are chasing trends.

As a "boutique" studio that values hand crafted games, that means we have to put more effort into building an audience first, so of course it's about high time I started shouting more about our game!

I'll try to post at least biweekly through our newsletter. If you want to see us succeed, currently the best thing you can do is to follow us on Tiktok and YouTube. We're working on a Steam page where we will be collecting wishlists as well (something we can use to prove that people are interested, which will help us find more funding), so keep your eyes peeled for when we launch it! We'll let you know via a next post.

Now for some cool visuals!

Our team has been hard at work figuring out the story, characters and world. Here is a bit of a sneak peek of some work. We will be showing more in future updates too, so make sure to follow us somewhere!

And some brilliant design from our multi-hyphenated talented storyboard artist, who is also a fantastic character designer. We are loosely basing our inspirations from Indigenous Caribbean cultures, as we really wanted to bring a fresh perspective to fantasy in games.

Thank you for reading, and see you next time!
